#21 in the 50 Bells series, this piece is designed for either indoor or garden display and is an incredible fete of craftsmanship and poetry of design. The upcycled scuba tank gracefully balances across the bent oak arch, all joined together with salvaged old growth fir that has been preserved using the ancient Japanese Sho Sugi Ban technique. Sho Sugi Ban uses a combination of charing, brushing and oiling to produce wood that is rot and insect resistant and has been used in Japan for centuries. As is usual with most of my bells, most fittings are hand crafted using forge and hand fabrication techniques. Check out the hand-made wing nuts!
